HARUYO KANEKO | Art Teacher

After taking a master’s degree in Art Education and obtaining licenses in Japan to teach in public elementary schools, public junior high schools and high schools, I became an art teacher at a junior high school in Japan. Since I started teaching children painting lessons at our Center, I have been using different motifs for each lesson. Students learn from the actual live objects placed right in front of them such as a living crab or a gorgeous orchid. By smelling the object or overturning the object, what they sense will manifest in their paintings showing their individuality.

Children can express their uniqueness thorough the art they create at this age and point in their lives and as they grow we will see different characteristics represented in their styles of paintings. Therefore it is important to let them express their creativity now, because these are unique representations of this time in their lifeand cannot be recreated later. Let’s enjoy!!

I was born in India and always had a dream of pursuing higher education in the United States. On achieving a degree in Computer Engineering from Mumbai University, one of the most prestigious universities in India, I was accepted by New York Institute of Technology for the Master's program in Computer Science. Being born and raised in Mumbai, I was ready for the fast paced and exiting life in New York City and the many opportunities it has to offer.

Having worked for the Department of Computer Science and School of Technology at NYIT, I was introduced to the work culture in the United States. Volunteering my time for developing websites for projects like the United Nation's film festival and Oxora International Business Consultants, gave me tremendous experience, which I cherish to this day. Self Motivation, ambition and hard work helped me acquire this lead position in the Information Technology Department for Oxora International Business Consultants at Nippon Community Center. SILVIA SAVIRI | Spanish Language Teacher

Born in Guadalajara, one of the largest most beautiful cities in Mexico I have only one brother who shares all of my childhood secrets. My mother and father founded my spirit and developed my soul. They guide my path and provide the experience that no class or book would ever give. My family mirrors my past and reflects my future. As a young girl I attended Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara where I achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Attracted to many languages and cultures I grew up pursuing friendship in every corner of the world. Many years I have spent spreading the knowledge of my culture and learning the essence of what many nations have to offer.
From 1995 to the year of 2001 I dedicated most of my time teaching Spanish as a foreign language to a big diversity of students at all levels of education. I served at the same time as an interpreter and translator for the same private practice that I proudly directed.
In 2001 I married my best friend, Dr. Anthony Saviri , who happened to be a hard core New Yorker from Staten Island willing to introduce me to his exciting world close to the core of the Big Apple. I fell in love with him and his idea of life so three years after relocating from my country and two happy years spent in Staten Island we recently moved to Yonkers, NY due to an Anesthesia Residency Program in Westchester Medical Center offered to my husband on 2004 .
Practically new to the Westchester area we are totally devoted to serve our new community in every area of expertise we may have to offer. Being a big fanatic of sports, health and fitness for years it is going to be very common to find me serving as a personal trainer , cooking a healthy meal or watching a Yankee game on my spare time.
Now member of the Nippon Community Center I will be looking forward to continue my labor of sharing my culture and getting to know yours. Nos vemos pronto!

Mr. Alberto Tirri | Soccer Coach
Soccer is my passion! It is more than a sport to me. Soccer has been a part of my life since the age of 5, when my parents introduced me to the sport by enrolling me in the "Bryn Mauer Boys Club" in Yonkers, New York. My background contributes very much to my passion for soccer. My mother was born in Argentina and my father in Italy. My dad played soccer professionally in Argentina. My parents have been soccer coaching for more than 30 years relating some great experiences and techniques to me. Growing up in this environment put me in the middle of the action. After the age of 10, I began playing for "Bryn Mauer Traveling Team" traveling around Westchester County. I then enrolled in "Dunwoodie Youth Association", playing both for fun and competition with their traveling team. I have continued playing since and I currently play in the Westchester Men's Soccer League for "Velez Sarsfield". I have also gained a great coaching experience from participating in the "Golden Touch Soccer Academy" of New Rochelle. During the summer I trained players at the "Professional Soccer School" in Mamaroneck. I have also led clinics with top local college players. Soccer has always been part of my life and I feel very passionate about this great sport. I hope to be able to share this passion with the new generation of soccer players! I am looking forward to seeing you all on the field.
