About the Nippon Community Center

The Nippon Community Center Exists for the primary purpose of preserving and promoting the Japanese culture. We assist Japanese people in the USA by facilitating their integration into the new world and by maintaining their cultural heritage; We aid Japanese families in Japan maintain contact with their relatives and friends in the USA,those who are interested in learning more about the USA, and those who want to visit this beautiful land. We also welcome people of all ethnicities who are interested in learning more about and experiencing the Japanese culture.

The center was founded in Hartsdale, Westchester County, New York in 1993 and since then has been a home away from home for many Japanese families living in the tri state area.

The Center was originally called the Japanese-American Society of Westchester but later the name was changed to the Nippon Community Center to clearly convey that we are an integrated part of our community, that we are not just limited to Hartsdale, and that we welcome people of all ethnicities to our center to assist them and to share and promote our knowledge and experiences.

We provide numerous programs and we invite you to browse our website to learn more about our services. One of our most successful programs is our concierge service acting as a liaison between our members and their desired service provider.

We have a well stocked Japanese library, live satellite television from Japan and free internet service. We invite all of you to visit and enjoy our facility.
